New Jersey SEEDS Announces The Allen Meisels Memorial Golf Classic, Presented by Bleakley Financial Group, to Take Place August 5th

July 25, 2019 – Newark, NJ – New Jersey SEEDS has announced that Bleakley Financial Group will host the annual Allen Meisels Memorial Golf Classic on Monday, August 5, 2019, at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell. The proceeds from the event will benefit New Jersey SEEDS, an educational nonprofit working with motivated, high-achieving students from low-income families.

The 2018 event brought in more than $167,000 for New Jersey SEEDS. Since Bleakley Financial Group began sponsoring the Golf Classic, over $3 million has been raised for SEEDS’ scholars.

“The annual Golf Classic is a fun way to introduce new friends to SEEDS’ mission,” says John F. Castano, Executive Director of New Jersey SEEDS. “We continue to be grateful to Bleakley Financial Group and Golf Committee Chair Andy Schwartz for once again presenting this event on our behalf. It’s only through the generous support of our community that we can provide educational access to these hard-working, dedicated young people.”

Registration and brunch for the August 5th event will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. A cocktail reception and auction will follow the conclusion of play at 5:00 p.m., with dinner and an awards ceremony afterwards. To register for golf, or to purchase tickets for the cocktail reception and dinner, visit http://www.seedsaccess.org/golf. Sponsorship packages are also available.

In 2017, the annual Golf Classic event was renamed in honor of longtime SEEDS Trustee Allen Meisels. Allen was a committed friend to New Jersey SEEDS, logging more than 20 years as a Trustee. He was instrumental in many of SEEDS’ board committees, and was a critical part of the founding and growth of this golf outing. Allen was a passionate advocate for the SEEDS mission and a champion of educational access.
