College Scholars Prepare for SEEDS Graduation

The College Scholars Class of 2019 has completed academic classes with SEEDS! Students wrapped up their 17 months with SEEDS in May. But before they finished classes, students had several unique experiences to help them prepare for their college journeys.

Students began their final semester with SEEDS with a senior retreat. They crafted vision boards, participated in reflective activities and revisited highlights of their SEEDS experience. Thanks to Syeedah Smith at Prudential, College Scholars also had the chance to participate in a personal finance workshop, learning how to budget while at college and beyond (view photos). In March, College Scholars had a homecoming. Graduates from 2017 and 2018 visited the Class of 2019, sharing advice and experiences. Later that month, Aliyah Cromwell (’99) and Anika Forrest (’03) led a career panel for the high school seniors, sharing their stories and advice on post-college careers.

In their final weeks with SEEDS, College Scholars also had two workshops led by SEEDS’ Guidance department – on identifying campus resources and mental health and wellness. SEEDS’ Guidance team again met with College Scholars – and their families – to share services SEEDS offers while students are in college.
