Bleakley Financial Group to Present 22nd Annual Golf & Tennis Classic Benefiting New Jersey SEEDS

New Jersey SEEDS, a nonprofit working to change the lives of motivated, high-achieving students from low-income families by creating access to education, will host the 22nd Annual Golf & Tennis Classic on Monday, August 1. Presented by Bleakley Financial Group, the event will be held at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell.

“SEEDS Trustee and Golf & Tennis Committee Chair Andy Schwartz has been an integral part of this fundraising event since 1998,” says NJ SEEDS Acting Executive Director John Castano. “Andy and his colleagues at Bleakley Financial Group have raised nearly $2.5 million for our students over the past 18 years. That is enough to support nearly 150 scholars’ experiences through SEEDS’ education programs. We are so grateful for all that they – along with Tennis Chair Abby O’Neill and the Golf & Tennis Committee members – have done to ensure that this year’s event will once again be a success.”

Last year, 170 golfers, tennis players and guests joined SEEDS to raise more than $250,000 in support of its students. All proceeds from the event benefit New Jersey SEEDS scholars.

Mountain Ridge Country Club is located at 713 Passaic Avenue in West Caldwell. Mountain Ridge has been honored by a number of publications, including Golf Digest, Links Magazine and Met Golfer. The club was awarded the 2012 “Renovation of the Year” honor by Golf Magazine.

On August 1, golf registration and brunch begin at 10:00 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. The tennis tournament starts at 2:30 p.m.; tennis players may arrive earlier for lunch. A cocktail reception and auction will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner, an awards ceremony and a raffle drawing.

The golf portion of the event is sold out. To register for tennis, or to purchase tickets for the cocktail reception, please contact MarrLa Brown at 862.227.9142 or register online. Sponsorship packages are also available.
