The 2018 Allen Meisels Memorial Golf Classic, Presented by Bleakley Financial Group, to Benefit New Jersey SEEDS This August

July 16, 2018 – Newark, NJ – New Jersey SEEDS has announced that Bleakley Financial Group will host The Allen Meisels Memorial Golf Classic on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell. NJ SEEDS is a nonprofit organization changing the lives of high-achieving students from low-income families by creating educational opportunities.

At last year’s event, nearly 30 foursomes joined SEEDS to raise more than $211,000 in support of SEEDS’ scholars. Since Bleakley Financial Group began sponsoring the Golf Classic, $2.9 million has been raised for New Jersey SEEDS.

“Thank you to the Bleakley Financial team, and especially to SEEDS Trustee and Golf Chair, Andy Schwartz,” says John F. Castano, Executive Director of New Jersey SEEDS. “Each year, the Golf Classic is an opportunity to celebrate SEEDS and our successes, and to introduce new friends to our mission and alumni.”

Last year, the annual event was named in honor of longtime Trustee Allen Meisels. Allen was a committed friend to New Jersey SEEDS, logging more than 20 years as a Trustee. He was instrumental in many of SEEDS’ board committees, and was a critical part of the founding and growth of this golf outing. Allen was a passionate advocate for the SEEDS mission and a champion of educational access.

Registration and brunch for this year’s event will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. A cocktail reception and auction will follow the conclusion of play at 5:00 p.m., with dinner and an awards ceremony afterwards.
