Investors Bank Executive Joins NJ SEEDS Board of Trustees

CFO of Nasdaq Named SEEDS’ Vice Chair of the Board

New Jersey SEEDS, a nonprofit organization that provides life-changing educational opportunities to low-income students, appointed Paul Kalamaras, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Officer of Investors Bank, to its Board of Trustees in February.

Paul Kalamaras joined Investors Bank as a Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking in August 2008. Before joining Investors, Paul was Executive Vice President of Millennium bcp bank, N.A., in Newark, New Jersey, where he was responsible for the retail, commercial banking and treasury lines of business. He served on the bank’s Executive Committee and was a member of the Board of Directors. Paul previously was President and CEO of The Barré Company, a manufacturer of precision engineered metal components for the electronics and telecommunications industry. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President at Summit Bank, where he was responsible for the retail network and business banking. Paul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. In addition to his appointment to the SEEDS Board, he is a Member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross NJ Crossroads.

The SEEDS Board of Trustees also named current member Lee Shavel, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Nasdaq as the Vice Chair of the Board. In September 2015, Lee will succeed Susan Present as Chair of the SEEDS Board of Trustees.

“Since he joined the SEEDS Board of Trustees in September 2013, Lee has been an active and innovative leader of our organization,” continues Denes. “His vision and commitment will be enormously valuable to the New Jersey SEEDS’ Board as we work to expand our offerings to students across the state.”

In addition, former SEEDS’ Trustee David Farber, Senior Vice President–Wealth Management of The RVH Group at Merrill Lynch, was honored by the Board of Trustees as an Emeritus member.
