Social Support

Graduates from NJ SEEDS programs don’t leave -- they move up to become a part of the NJ SEEDS Alumni community. Alumni and their families need to know that NJ SEEDS is there with them – behind them and at their side – as they progress in their respective schools. They continue to receive our support through various ongoing programs designed specifically for them, including:

  • individual school visits
  • tracking of grades
  • financial guidance
  • access to counseling
  • summer enrichment programs
  • internship possibilities
  • college application support

College Application Support

NJ SEEDS college support is based on a strong collaboration between our staff and placement schools. NJ SEEDS invites alumni families to attend college workshops and fairs that help students learn about early action and early decision, how to write effective college essays, how to search and apply for scholarships, and how to apply for financial aid. Our College Tours give our students firsthand exposure to the academic opportunities and requirements of many colleges, and most importantly, what colleges match the student’s interests and talents.

Access to supplemental college support services from NJ SEEDS helps alumni make more confident and appropriate decisions about their higher education options. There are no limits to what NJ SEEDS alumni can achieve!

Social Events & Reunions

NJ SEEDS plans a variety of social events and reunions throughout the year, giving alumni an opportunity to reconnect with their classmates and NJ SEEDS staff as well as meet new alumni. Reunions take place during winter, spring, and summer breaks. During the winter, NJ SEEDS hosts a holiday party for the entire alumni community. During annual Spring Break reunion for middle school and high school alumni, students usually attend a Broadway play. During the summer, two separate reunions are held, one for middle school and high school alumni and one for college and post-college alumni. Throughout the year, several small networking events are held for alumni who are in the area. In addition, seniors graduating from high school attend Senior Dinner, where the NJSEEDS staff honors the Class for their accomplishments.   (For details on upcoming Alumni events, see the Event calendar.)

SEEDS is grateful to the Fred C. Rummel Foundation and the Six Talents Foundation for their support of the SEEDS Alumni Program this past year.
