Successfully completing any of our three educational programs, and thus joining our growing group of graduates, happily does not signify the end to an active relationship with NJ SEEDS.

The NJ SEEDS Alumni program was designed to serve graduates of the Young Scholars, Scholars, and College Preparatory Programs in many ways, and continues to grow in scope every year. The Alumni Relations team provides tailored programming for middle school, high school, and college-aged students that aims to enrich our scholars academically, culturally, professionally, and socially.  NJ SEEDS alumni have the opportunity to attend college admissions and financial aid workshops, college and internship fairs, an annual Senior Dinner for students graduating from high school, outings to the theatre and trips to Philadelphia and Washington, DC, annual summer, winter, and spring break reunions, networking events, and career workshops.

The Alumni Relations Office also connects students with prestigious nonprofit and corporate internships, summer job opportunities, awards, grants, and academic and travel abroad programs,. Select alumni are invited to intern at our campus sites and at the NJ SEEDS headquarters in Newark. Our alumni have interned with organizations as diverse as Goldman Sachs and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), have studied in Tokyo and Buenos Aires, and worked for the UN High Commission on Refugees as well as the US Election Assistance Commission.

Throughout the academic year, the Alumni Relations team travels the country visiting NJ SEEDS graduates at their independent secondary schools and colleges. Staff members also meet with deans, advisors, teachers, college guidance counselors, and admissions directors to ensure that our alumni transition optimally to their new school environments and continue to thrive in the selective post-secondary institutions they attend.

As they enter high school, all NJ SEEDS alumni are invited to participate in the NJ SEEDS Alumni Summer Leadership Institute, a four-year program for students in high school. Each summer module has its own theme, ranging from “Democracy in Action” to “Money Musts.” Through the Institute, students have met prominent leaders in politics, media, and business; have toured the studios of NBC, CNN and Sirius Satellite Radio; and have debated such topics as immigration and national security.
